“The more I understand the mind and the human experience, the more I begin to suspect there is no such thing as unhappiness; there is only ungratefulness.” – Steve Maraboli
Humor me for just a minute… Try the following exercise… I promise this will only take a couple of seconds…
Shut your eyes and go internally to that sacred place inside yourself. Think of someone or something that you feel strongly about. And try to this experiment. Say to yourself “Thank you” in a meaningful way, and notice where you feel that feeling in your body.
Now… try it again, and say “I’m grateful”, and notice again where you feel it in your body.
Did you notice a difference? Could you tell that ”gratitude” is felt in the heart, and ‘thankfulness” is found in the head?
We know from my earlier blog post that gratitude is the foundation for happiness. It’s the way to increase happiness and abundance in your life. So for this Thanksgiving, I want you to practice telling those around you that you are “grateful” to have them in your life. Skip the thanks this year… and be GRATEFUL for everything!
And every day, take 5 minutes and write down 5 people, events or things that you are ‘grateful’ for in your life, and why you are grateful for them. I promise you, you will see shifts in your life. You will see profound differences in how you react to events, how your life unfolds, and how your happiness increases.

I’m so grateful to have all of you in my life. I’m grateful for my family and friends. And I’m grateful for living in this amazing time when I can create a movement that matters for myself, for all those I touch and for the this amazing world we live in. I… AM… GRATEFUL!
