Do you ever wonder why some days you feel like you are on top of the world… Nothing can go wrong… You are in the flow as an active creator in the life you want.
And then just a couple of days later. You are down in the dumps… feeling crappy about your self, your life, your business or your family situation?
Why is it that we are on this emotional roller coaster?
Don’t you wish you could stay at the top of the coaster… in that state of grace and flow where everything comes a little easier… where the world seems a little kinder and where you can ‘see’ your vision for your future becoming a reality?
ME TOO! I want to stay at the top of the roller coaster. I want every day to feel easy. I want to be in the FLOW all the time!
So, here is the deal. There is a lot of new research out right now on why you are on the emotional roller coaster and how to create a new ‘normal’ for yourself.
Bear with me for a minute while I explain how this works. You need to understand so you can start making the changes you want in your life, like me.
In a nutshell, here is what the recent brain science has learned…
Each emotion we feel releases chemicals into our body. When you go through long periods of time in a constant state of stress, worry, guilt, shame, anger, depression or any other start, the cells of you body adapt to the constant barrage of chemicals. Over time, our cells adapt and just like the heroin addict who needs more and more of the drug to get the same high because his body has adapted to the drug, the same is happening to each of us with our emotions!
In short, you become addicted to the emotions you generate most often!
There are profound implications to that statement. Let’s go back to our emotional roller coaster. When you are “up”, you are flooding your body with all the feel good chemicals you love. And while that is happening, you are depriving your body of the ‘negative’ emotions you have become addicted to over the course of your life.
After a couple of days without your ‘negative emotional drug’, your body starts to look for ways to bring you back ‘down’… it wants to maintain that steady-state negative state you spent many years at.
Ok, so now that you get how this works, I bet you can see how this has impacted your life.
Which emotion do you drop into most often? Fear? Guilt? Depression? Hopelessness? Joy? Gratitude?
Here’s the good news.
You can change you emotional state! It’s totally possible to re-train your brain to a new normal.
The 2 emotions you need to cultivate to do that are Gratitude and Joy!
Joy, of course, is the state of grace and flow. This is where all your creative potential resides. Joy is the state of ULTIMATE ABUNDANCE. It’s the state when you can manifest ANYTHING your heart desires!
Gratitude… why do we need Gratitude? This is a little tricky and requires a little more brain science. So hang in there. I promise it’s worth your while to grasp this concept. Your subconscious brain doesn’t understand the concept of time. When you relive a memory, your subconscious brain doesn’t know it happened in the past. It believes it is happening now. This is why you create emotions when you relive a particularly strong memory.
So allowing yourself to feel Gratitude for all the joy and abundance you’ve ever experienced, AND the joy you want TO FEEL IN THE FUTURE is ABOSTULELY CRITICAL to changing your brain state. Allowing yourself to feel gratitude for FUTURE JOY that has not happed yet signals the subconscious mind to create memory. It creates the future joyful state as if it has already happened!
This is the magic formula to creating a new normal state of Joy and abundance at all times.
